1967, at the height of their fame. The Beatles contacted through their company NEMS American fashion photographer Richard Avedon, who at that time was already numbered among the most influential fashion and portrait photographers in the world. The famous series was shot at the studio of Thompson House in London. The change in colors was made in the lab, Avedon was a pioneer in this techniques.
The first edition of the images and posters was safeguarded by the British magazine „Look“. In Germany the prints were marketed as a set of four, or individually. (the b/w banner was extra) Published and distributed by the poster publisher PPP-Populäre Propaganda Presse. (this is the edition we offer including all 5 images, and a special promotion billboard from 1968) The german cover story was hosted by the magazine „Stern“ in Hamburg.
