Mick Jagger – The Rolling Stones. First there were six small boys, who built themselves a palace of perpetual pleasures and gave all their lives to games.Sometimes their games were nice but, mostly, their games were naughty, nasty or downright disrespectful and they pulled rude faces, stuck out their tongues or dressed themselves in the strangest, the most disturbing costumes. Then there were five, because the sixth, who had first thought of his palace now quarreled with the others and been cast out. Nonetheless, the round of treats continued undiminished and there were japes, pranks, much more fun for all. Then they were four, because the fifth had grown exhausted and had moved off round the corner. Now the games grew more and more violent, so that the downstairs’ neighbors banged on the ceiling with brooms, to ask for quiet and decency. But „Hey, you, get off of my cloud“ – that was the funsters’ only response, and the volume rose still higher.
Mick Jagger. Then there was one, all alone. Immured in his palace of mirrors, he never grew any older and, even though his stock of games had long since run-out, he went right on playing them, over and over and over. (taken from the book Rock Dreams)
Rock Dreams. The most famous book by the Belgian all-rounder (1934 until 2008) came into existence in collaboration with the Britisch rock journalist Nick Cohn. Many of the original works are in the possession of actor Jack Nicholson. Guy Peellaert is also well known for his early erotic grown up cartoon works, Pravda and Jodelle. The very modern erotic cartoon style, similar to Barbarella, was Published by Verlag Schünemann Bremen. A very few posters have been chosen to be published at PPP Publishing in the 1960’s. Years after Rock Dreams, one of Peellaerts last prominent book “The Big Room” was realized and finally published in the late 1980’s. The artwork of Big Room was exhibited at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris in the 19190’s. Several re-publications of Rock Dreams have been published over the decades in the 1980’s and 2000’s.
